How to use Shiraz Spooler interface on Windows XP

This  article will explain how to use Shiraz Spooler Interface on Windows XP.

1.From Start Menu select Printers and Faxes option. From the left hand-side options select Add a printer. On the new appeared window click Next.
2.Select Local printer attached to this computer. Make sure you remove the tick from Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer.
3.Select Create a new port and from the list of ports select Standard TCP/IP Port.
4.Click on Next to continue.
5.Next you will need to enter your printer IP address and give it a port name. Click on Next to continue.
6.A window will confirm your setup information. Click on Finish to continue.
7.Next you need to select your printer manufacturer and type. From Manufacturer list select Generic and from Printers list select Generic / Text Only.
8.Next you need to give your printer a name. Choose a name that you can easily recognize later.
9.In the next couple of windows you will be asked if you want to set this printer as default, whether you want to do a test print and whether you want to share this printer. Select No for all of them and click Next. This will finish setting up the printer.


From Your Shiraz Application:

10.Create a new queue, and from Interface list select Spooler.
11.This will bring a list of all available printers. From the list select the printer you created earlier on.
12.Your printer is now ready to be use with the Spooler interface.
Note: You can also change the interface for an existing printer. Go to Setup Interface and select Spooler.  This will bring a list of available printers. Select a printer from the list. The printer is now setup with the spooler interface and ready to be used.
